Tasty Gin Cocktails to Sip this Summer
There’s a good reason why gin is the base for dozens upon dozens of much-loved cocktails. It’s light and refreshing, and it blends well with nearly any flavor you can think of. Gin is also perfect for making summer cocktails. Try the following cocktail recipes to add an element of class and high society to your next gathering.
A classic martini is made with gin and a splash of vermouth. You can make yours by adding a half ounce of dry vermouth to 2.5 ounces of gin. Shake or stir it, and add it to a chilled glass with an olive for a garnish.
Cucumber Gin Cooler
Cucumber is the quintessential summery garnish. Add 2 to 5 cucumber slices to the bottom of a glass and muddle them up a bit. Add ice, and then top with 3 ounces of club soda and 2 ounces of gin.
Pink Gin Fizz
If you’re planning a pool party, you can’t go wrong by serving pink gin fizz cocktails. This is a drink that looks so refreshing and colorful that you’ll want to put it on your Instagram page. Mix 1.5 ounces of Italian pink gin with 3 ounces of prosecco. Add a splash of fresh lemon juice and garnish with a grapefruit twist.
Gin Mint Spritzer
This delightful cocktail is reminiscent of another popular drink, the mojito. Add a generous sprig of mint to the bottom of a glass and muddle it up a bit to release the flavor. Add ice, followed by 2 ounces of gin and 3 ounces of club soda. Garnish with either a fresh lemon slice or another sprig of mint—or both!
